On May 29, the Institute of Modern Agricultural Development of the SCO Agricultural Base released the Research Report on Integrated Demonstration and Standardization of Agricultural Technologies in SCO Member States at the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development.
The Report focuses on the current problems of non-uniformity of agricultural technical standards among SCO member states, the technical standards barriers in the process of agricultural trade, and the lack of a mature mechanism for synergistic cooperation and exchange of agricultural technologies and standards.
The Report is divided into 4 parts. The first part is the “Study on the Development of Trade in Major Agricultural Products in SCO Countries”, which collects and organizes 30,000 product trade data of SCO countries from the UN trade database. The second part is “Analysis of Agricultural Trade Standards of SCO Countries and Design of Intelligent Service Platform”, which compares and analyzes the specific differences of agricultural trade standards and regulations of SCO countries and contains 345 agricultural standards of SCO countries and international standards organizations. The third part is the “Report on the Preparation of Key Technical Standards for Major Agricultural Products in SCO Countries”, which takes apples and wheat as case studies, compiles 9 agricultural technical standards with reference to Chinese national standards and ISO and GOST standards adopted by SCO member countries, and designs a set of standard implementation plans. The fourth part is a report on “Study on the Practice Model of Modern Agricultural Technology Integration and Demonstration in SCO Countries”, which provides think-tank suggestions on organization and coordination, policy guarantee, international cooperation and personnel training for the work of agricultural technology integration and standardization in SCO member countries by sorting out the concept and typical cases of agricultural technology integration and demonstration.
