In the afternoon of May 16, Northwest A&F University of Science and Technology and Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University signed an agreement on cooperative education in food science and engineering. According to the agreement, students from Kazakhstan can get the master’s diplomas and academic certificates issued by Northwest A&F University of Science and Technology and the master’s degree certificates issued by Saken Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University through studying in the two countries.

The Sino-Kazakhstan master’s degree program in food science and engineering is the first exploration of Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University of Science and Technology to run schools outside of China, and is also an important part of the China-Central Asia Summit held in Xi’an from May 18 to 19, which not only marks a new achievement of cooperation between the two universities, but also opens a new chapter for their win-win cooperation on agriculture.

It is said that in 2016, in response to the Belt and Road Initiative and serve the whole picture of national diplomacy, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University of Science and Technology took the lead in establishing the Silk Road Agricultural Education, Science and Technology Innovation Alliance. Thanks to the platform, it has conducted extensive and in-depth cooperation with 11 agricultural universities in Central Asia, and has sent 77 batches of 204 experts, scholars and students, achieving a series of new results in the training of international students, scientific research and agricultural production. In this connection, a good foundation is laid for NWAFU to carry out deeper and wider exchanges and cooperation with countries along the Silk Road.
