On May 16, the seminar on Ecological Civilization and Green Development for Developing Countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by Yangling Demonstration Zone, is held in Exchange Center of SCO Modern Agriculture Base. He Ling, deputy secretary of the Working Committee of the CCP, attended the seminar and delivered a speech.
41 trainees from 12 countries, including Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Lesotho, Nepal, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Cuba, Armenia and Uzbekistan, attended the seminar.
It is the first training seminar that all trainees are required to come to China personally since the establishment of the SCO Demonstration Base for Agricultural Technology Exchange and Training and the Sino-African Joint Center for Modern Agricultural Technology Exchange, Demonstration and Training in Yangling District. Also, it is an important supporting activity of the SCO Forum on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development to be held at the end of the month, thus having received wide attention from the participating countries.
It is said that the seminar will last 21 days, and that it mainly introduces the concept and achievements of China’s efforts on ecological civilization and green development. Experts from universities and research institutions such as Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, China Academy of Forestry Science, and Water Conservation Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences are invited to give lectures, which include China’s characteristic models and practical cases of ecological civilization and green development, China’s current situation of industrialized development of ecological recycling agriculture, and China’s wetland resources and conservation and management. In addition, they need to organize trainees to go to Yangling Arable Land Protection and Quality Improvement Center, Tongchuan Ruanfa Modern Agriculture Ltd. and other units to carry out on-site teachings and exchanges with relevant enterprises. Also, cultural exchange activities will be held in Beijing and Xi’an.
