Hi, hi, hi! I’m Ketrin from Indonesia, currently in my junior year at Xi’an Jiaotong University. It has been three years since I came to China and this is the very first time I travel to Hanzhong, Shaanxi. Guys, let me tell you something. I have been in love with Chinese culture ever since I was a little kid. And today, guess what? I got a chance to learn more about the famous Chinese green tea —— Hanzhong Xianhao Tea. What’s special is I’ll make my own tea from scratch with my very own hand, right from the expert! So, one-daychallenge as a “tea farmer” sounds amazing, doesn’t it?
China is known as the hometown of tea, and Shaanxi province is one of the earliest tea-growing regions in China, with a long history of tea production and a profound tea culture.
Hanzhong, on the northern edge of Jiangbei tea area in China, is the largest green tea production base where the tea culture of Han people originates and develops. Hanzhong tea has five special characteristics —— pungent, aromatic, long-lasting, exquisite, and salubrious".
In order to have a better experience and understanding of the tea processing, I know just the right person, one of the pros in town, who will introduce me what a day of a Chinese tea farmer is really like. I’m so excited, can’t wait for it, so let’s get started!
