Since late May, the weather has been good. Wheat, the main summer crop, is going to a concentrated harvest period from southern China to northern regions. China's main wheat-producing provinces have started harvesting. Till 16:00 on May 28, China has harvested 65 million mu (1 mu equals 666.667㎡) of wheat, about two percent of the whole progress. Among them Sichuan’s wheat-harvest nearly came to an end, Hubei’s harvest-progress was over 90%, Henan’s was over 30%, and Anhui’s was over 20%. On that day, 180,000 combine harvesters were working and harvested-area of that day was more than 9 million mu. The national “three summer jobs” large-scale cross-regional wheat-harvest began comprehensively (the three summer jobs are planting, harvesting and field management).
Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China requires all regions to carefully organize mechanized production for “three summer jobs”, and not to slacken off on the battle of cross-regional operation of agriculture despite the coronavirus outbreak, to refine and implement emergency plans, to ensure that the total amount of machinery in harvesting, planting and field management remains stable and increases, operational level increases steadily, operation of the market is stable and orderly, and strive to realize the summer grain from "a good harvest in sight" to "a good harvest in hand", planting autumn grain in a bumper period, to stabilize whole year grain production, to guarantee food security with mechanized support.
