On September 20, 2019, Shigeo Katori, a gardening expert from the Chiba Prefecture Research Institute of Pomology, went to Yangling Vocational & Technical College for academic exchanges and gave an academic report on “The Current Status of Japanese Grape and Cherry Production.” Teachers of the Horticulture Teaching and Research Section of the College of Bioengineering and relevant personnel of the Research Promotion Division participated in the seminar.
At the seminar, Shigeo Katori gave a briefing on the sales status of grapes and cherries in the Japanese consumer market, as well as the production scale and agricultural output of Japanese farmers, and made a comparison between the Chinese horticultural industry and the Japanese horticultural industry, pointing out the difference between Chinese and Japanese horticultural production.
Shigeo Katori also introduced the pruning and cultivation process of Japanese grapes and cherries. At the seminar,he also answered the questions raised by all the teachers and they discussed on those questions.
